Fall 2020 Recreation

The 2020 Fall season will look different from the prior year as we had to take logistical, financial and manpower considerations into the overall operation of the program. The goal of MLBTB SC is to offer a recreation program to players, trainers, and volunteers with the health and safety for all involved as a top priority. 

Please read through the program details below.  If you are uneasy and/or unable to work within the guidelines set forth below, please wait until next season to enroll your child in the recreation program.  As all leagues and clubs, MLBTB SC, must follow specific guidelines put forth by our governing bodies, the State and local municipalities.  We expect all families and players that participate in the Fall program to follow and adhere to such guidelines.  These guidelines may be subject to change as new information becomes available closer to the start of the season.


Eligible Grades: 

Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, 4th Grade


For grades 5 and up
:  MLBTB SC will continue our partnership with Parsippany Soccer Club (PSC) for players in grades 5 and up that are interested in playing recreation soccer.  Interested players will need to register with PSC directly at www.parsippanysc.org by July 15
th .

Length of Season:  

6 weeks, starting Saturday, September 19,  and ending Saturday, October 31.  There will be no sessions Columbus Day Weekend (Saturday, October 10, 2020)


Sessions:

  • Sessions will be held on Saturdays only
  • Each session will be 60 minutes (30 minutes training then 30 minutes inter-group scrimmage)


Group Formation:

  • There will be a maximum of 10 players per group.  Space is limited in each group. 
  • Players must remain  with their group for the entire duration of the season.  There will be no player movement once groups are set
  • It is expected that each group will have the same trainer for the duration of the season


Team Personnel:
There are no coaches,  Soccer Alliance trainers will be running all practice sessions and inter-group scrimmages. However, all teams must have ONE parent volunteer to help coordinate communication between the Club and parents and assist the trainer as needed. 

               
Training/Certification Requirements for Team Manager:

  • Background check, On-Line Abuse Training Course and Concussion Training are required


Parents/Spectators:

  • One parent must remain with the player for the duration of the session, this is not a ‘drop-off’ program
  • All parents must  maintain a social distance of at least 6 feet and follow social distancing guidelines when on the field
  • Parents must remain at least 6 feet off the field/sideline
  • If a player does not want to participate in any portion of a session, the player must leave the field and will not be permitted to return to the session
  • Parents will be required to follow NJ DOH, CDC and NJ Youth Soccer COVID-19 guidelines prior to attending any session.  More details to follow as we get closer to the season start.


Registration Fee:
(includes a jersey, socks and shorts)

  • $150 – Registration fee until July 31, 2020
  • $175 – Late Registration Fee starting August 1, 2020

 

COVID Related Fee:  Prior to the start of the season, there will be an additional fee payable to MLBTB SC to cover additional resources needed to comply with COVID related expenses.  This fee will be due prior to uniform pick-up. 


Schedule:
The schedule, including session start times, will not be available until end of August, early September.  However, all sessions will be held on Saturdays only starting at 8:30am with the last session ending at 2pm.


Equipment:
Players must bring their own ball, sanitizer and water bottle.  Players must also wear shin guards underneath their socks.  Sneakers are permitted, soccer cleats are preferred. No jewelry, including earrings.

Uniform: Players will be provided with a uniform kit consisting of one shirt, pair of shorts and socks.  Youth size information can be found here.

We fully support and reiterate NJ Youth Soccer’s mantra “If you are not comfortable with returning to play, don’t.  We understand some of you will be hesitant to register for the Fall, but please remember that soccer will be here when you are ready to return.  While there is no guidebook or manual we appreciate all of your understanding and support in helping to provide a safe and fun soccer environment for all to enjoy while we all try and navigate the new normal during these unprecedented times.
