4v4 is an entry-level travel program for more advanced players who want more of a time commitment and competitive play. Through 4v4 games and a festival format, this program is designed to give young players the opportunity to develop their skills in a small sided setting as they learn the basic principles of soccer. It’s a great way to keep the game simple and fun in a pressure-free environment.
Eligibility: Kids born in 2018 and 2019, per requirements set by Morris County Youth Soccer
Time Commitment: Players will practice for 60 minutes twice a week. Festivals are on Saturdays. Rather than playing a single long game, our players will participate in festivals with multiple short games against players of the same age. We aim to attend about 7 festivals over the ten week season, and work with players to choose festivals that work for the majority. The boys tend to play in the morning and the girls late morning or afternoon. Please note that final festival details may not be known until the week of but we will do our best to have an open dialogue to keep players and families updated on times and locations.
Team Personnel: PESA trainers will run all practice sessions and manage the festival groups. Given the interest levels in 4v4 and to preview the travel team experience, we will also enlist parent volunteers to support the PESA trainers.
Team Formation: Every effort to place every player on a team will be made, but based on the number of registrants it may not be possible and we may be forced to turn away some players. New this year, there will be a mandatory skills evaluation for parents interested in 4v4 to help ensure that the are signing their kids up for the right program. The Rec program will be significantly enhanced in Fall of 2025.
Cost: $320 + uniform costs to be ordered directly by parents. Any family experiencing financial hardship can apply for a scholarship by emailing [email protected] and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
To register: Please log in to your account at the top of this page. If you do not have an account, you will need to create one in order to enroll in available programs. Registration for 4v4 is a two-step process. Once we have enough players for a team and each player has participated in a mandatory skills evaluation, we will send a confirmation email and you will then be asked to complete the registration and pay the fees.
