The MLBTB Soccer Club Recreation Program objectives are simple - build players' skills and have fun.
Summary:
- The Recreation Program is offered to youth in pre-K3 through 5th grade.
- In the Fall, the season starts in September; no sessions over Columbus Day Weekend. In the Spring, the season runs from mid-April until mid-May or early June. The Spring schedule is adjusted to accommodate spring break, a tournament at RVA, and Memorial Day weekend.
- The schedule will be available close to the season's start. We will set the schedule to accommodate as many kids as possible in each age group.
Fall Program Options:
PreK3 – 6 45-minute sessions on Saturday or Sunday (to be scheduled) run by parent volunteers. $100
PreK4 and Kindergarten – 8 60-minute sessions on Saturdays. Sessions start at 8:30am with the last possible session ending by 2pm. $160
First grade and older - 8 60-minute sessions on Saturdays. Sessions start at 8:30am with the last session ending by 2pm. New in Fall 2025, first graders and older players will also have 6 mid-week small-sided scrimmages with help from parent volunteers $200
Parents/Spectators:
- One caregiver must remain with the player for the whole session. This is not a ‘drop-off’ program
- If a player does not want to participate in any portion of a session, the player must leave the field
- It is expected that each group will have the same trainer for the duration of the season. Players must remain with their group for the season. There will be no player movement once groups are set
Equipment Requirements:
Each player will be provided with a t-shirt. Players should wear soccer socks and shin guards and must bring their own ball and water bottle. Sneakers are permitted; soccer cleats are preferred (no metal). No jewelry, including earrings. Ball sizes vary by age. Players born in 2015, 2016, and 2017 will need a size #4 ball, younger groups will need a size #3 ball.
Team Personnel: The PreK 3 program is run by parent volunteers. All other recreation teams are trained by our training partner, PESA. Parent volunteers will be invited to coach mid-week scrimmages for players in first grade or older as part of the Fall program.
