MLBTB - Soccer Club

Recreation

The MLBTB SC Recreation Program objectives are simple: Build Skills and have FUN! Our philosophy promotes the development of the player through good physical conditioning, promotion of sportsmanship and enjoyment of the game while developing knowledge and skills in soccer.

Registration is open June-August and the season runs September-November.

Age Classifications:
The Recreation Program encompasses youth from 4-14 years old. (Participants must be 4 years old by January 1st of the current year to participate — NO EXCEPTIONS!!). Our younger players practice and play on Saturdays's the second weekend in September until the middle of November. Players are placed in divisions based on their age during the season.  Older aged players play in the Parsippany Intramural Soccer League, which means that all games will be played in Parsippany.

Equipment Requirements:
Each player at the recreational level will be provided with a team shirt, shorts and socks. Players MUST provide their own shin guards and footwear. Cleats are preferred (NO METAL) but sneakers are acceptable.  Players should bring their own soccer ball to all practices. (Size #5 for birth year 2007 and before, Size #4 for birth year 2008 - 2011, and Size #3 for anyone born 2012 or later).

Volunteer Opportunities/Requirements:
New this Fall 2019 season, all recreation teams will be trained and coached by our training partner, Soccer Alliance, LLC.  All recreation teams need parent team managers who will act as the liaison between the Club, trainer and parents.  Team managers are required to be present at the Saturday session to help the trainers manage the players and get them in and out of the games.

In order to be considered for a Team Manager role, all volunteers will need to clear a background check and complete two online training courses (Abuse Prevention Training Course and the Heads Up to Youth Concussion Training).

Our Club and the League in which we participate, is part of the New Jersey Youth Soccer Association (NJYS) and NJ Youth Soccer takes risk management and player safety as a top priority.Along with NJ Youth Soccer, we are committed to annual background checks, concussion management procedures and abuse awareness training and education- for coaches, club personnel and volunteers.

Commencing with the 2019-2020 playing season, coaches, trainers, managers etc. are required to take an initial Abuse Prevention Training course. The course is offered online at no cost to you through the U.S. Center for SafeSport. This requirement reflects and supports a mandate from U.S. Soccer.
