Travel Team Tryouts -- Fall 2008 Season -- April 5th
All Players interested in playing on a Travel team in the Fall must register and tryout on the date listed below. Players who wish to play on a Recreation team only need to fill out the Registration form and do NOT need to attend tryouts.
Travel Team Tryout Information:
Current and past coaches, soccer board members, and others will evaluate participants. The tryouts will consist of scrimmages according to age groups and gender. The focus will be on skill evaluation in game/scrimmage settings based on the player’s soccer skills, athletic ability, attitude, and ability to listen and follow directions.
There are additional fees of $110 involved with travel soccer. These fees are paid upon acceptance to a travel team, following the tryout. Notification of selection will be made by mid-June. Once notified, it is expected that your child will join the team. This acceptance will indicate participants’ and parents’ willingness to fulfill the commitments required. These commitments typically include at least 2 practices per week, a game each Sunday from early September until mid-November, and several tournaments.
Parents should understand that a large number of children may tryout for a limited number of roster spots. This may result in some children not being selected for a team. The roster size is set by the state so we do not have the option to exceed a certain number of players per team. Also, the traveling soccer program may not be appropriate for every child. Please be mindful of these facts before the try-out process. Remember, the MLBTB-SC Recreation Program is a wonderful alternative that will continue to build your child’s skills.

Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled start time.
Check in at the registration desk upon arriving.
Children should wear soccer shoes and shin guards and bring along a water bottle.
